Welcome to JSV SISSA, the most sociable chess club in Groningen. We are a chess club for everyone who enjoys a pleasant atmosphere while playing chess. At SISSA, there is room for music, a drink, and conversation both during, between and after the games.
Feel free to drop by and experience the atmosphere — and play a game or two!
Internal competition
Every Monday evening, chess is played from 20:00 at Proeflokaal Hooghoudt. If you would like to join, you can register before 12:00 by emailing info.jsvsissa@gmail.com to sign up for a long game (60 or 90 minutes per player).
Playing strength ranges from beginner to grandmaster, so a suitable and enjoyable game can be arranged for everyone. On the last Monday of the month, instead of long games, we host a rapid or blitz chess evening.
